Specific Casting Opportunities

On Golden Pond  —  June 2026 Production

The Big Bear Theatre Project is specifically seeking a male actor between the ages of 10 and 15 (must look believably 13) to play the role of Billy Ray Jr. in the June production of On Golden Pond. Audition sides are available for this role upon request.

Playwright Festival

Actors of all types are encouraged to audition for potential casting in our upcoming Playwright Festival as well as a 1920’s themed special event.

We are looking for:

  • Roaring '20s-type gangsters and mobsters

  • Flappers

  • Cop types

  • Great character actors of all kinds

Singing and dancing ability is a plus.

As with general auditions, please come prepared with a monologue, and a song with backing track if you wish to sing.

You are asked to perform two two-minute monologues, if you are only interested in non-musical productions, or one two-minute monologue and one two-minute song, if you are interested in musical productions. Monologues and songs must be memorized and well-prepared. You must provide your own accompaniment, either a digital audio or live pianist, if you are performing a song. We will have a Bluetooth enabled speaker available for digital audio accompaniments.

If you need a resource for songs and monologues, perform an online search for appropriate material. Please only use a performance digital audio track for your song. DO NOT use a track that has vocals on it.
